The high-pitched scream as the ambulance dipped into a low, growing wail as it braked hard right next to me and the frame of his bike.
I didn't remember much of that night just the ceiling being a blur of white hot rectangles, snap, snap, snapping past as the gurney took the corner on two wheels, I felt the power of the motor hum beneath my back, a low vibration that made my broken ribs scream.
Tears started flowing heavily like rain down my cheeks into the collar of his jacket swelling my eyes. Around me the world reduced to the skre-skre of the sneakers on the polished linoleum as they ran beside me.
Someone yelled "Clear".
As we hit the double door the hiss of it opening was the last sound I heard before the cold hit.
I didn't know that this would be the moment that everything changed for me and if I had known that loving Cyrus Blackwood would lead to this would I go back?
Heck, no.
A wave of cold ice washed over the tears on my cheeks and I slipped into the black.
You know you love me. XOXO, V.
